Lovely 14K yellow gold Art Nouveau solitaire diamond ring. Center diamond is a hand-faceted, cushion shaped Old mine cut diamond that weighs approximately 1.23 carats, is J-K color and SI1 clarity. This diamond is totally unique and gently suspended in a scalloped six prong setting with deeply carved shoulders. Abstract motif and curvilinear design in this ring is indicative of the Art Nouveau design movement of the early 20th century. On the reverse, the original hand engraved inscription remains: ‘Ellen ‘08’.  

This ring was most likely made in America, c.1908.  It is in excellent antique condition, presently a finger size 8.5 and can be re-sized upon request.
