Talk about a conversation piece! This 15K yellow gold ring has an oval banded agate intaglio carved with the word "Remember" written in reverse.  The agate is bezel set in gold and opens to reveal  an unsuspectinglocket. We can only hypothesize about what cache was kept hidden in this secret compartment. Hair of a lost loved one or revengeful poison intended for an arch enemy? We will let you decide.   An architectural design on the shoulders is reminiscent of the top of a gothic column. Worn hallmarks on the inside of the band indicate English manufacture. Most likely c. 1850-1870.

Condition: This ring is in very good antique condition and has light signs of wear commensurate with age.
