Antique, Acrostic, Amazing. This is a wonderful early 19th century 18K yellow gold and silver ‘Regard’ ring. The first letter of each gemstone spells out the word regard (Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond).  The initials ‘AP to CMR’ are inscribed inside the band indicating that it could have been a betrothal ring.   Each gemstone is set in its own little box across the top with the diamond set in silver (of course). The ring is closed in the back indicating it is one of the earlier treasures. c.1820
