Coiled Victorian Snake
Coiled Victorian Snake
Among all the animals, the snake holds a special place in jewelry as a time-honored celebration of love and fidelity. While it has been popular since ancient times, it saw exceptional popularity during the Victorian era, following Queen Victoria’s receipt of snake engagement ring from Prince Albert set with an emerald in its head. This 18 karat gold coiled snake ring is from that era, set with an old mine cut diamond in its head symbolizing fidelity and sitting serenely coiled around the finger. Made in 1904 in the city of Birmingham and set with one old European cut diamond that weighs 0.15 carats and is H-I color and VS quality.
In excellent antique condition. Presently a size 9 and can be resized.
