“Once in a blue moon” they say, when you come across something rare and special. Finding my person, that was pretty special. Making time for us to vacation together, rarer than we’d like. And now, looking out from the holiday terrace on a lovely, cloudless night, the moon in her bright fullness is indeed a blue moon. That’s what they call the second full moon in a calendar month. And, dare I say, to celebrate she looks a touch blue-hued, too? All together, that’s exceptionally rare. And I couldn’t be happier to share this moment with you. 

We come across vivid blue sapphires this lovely once in a blue moon, too. And when we do, we have to make a mounting to show it off in all its splendor. Our Gray & Davis collection envisions stunning creations inspired by our favorite rings of yore. This incredible 5.13 carat cushion-shaped sapphire is set in an Art Deco-inspired ring. It is certified with a gemstone report by C. Dunaigre of Switzerland as being natural, of vivid blue color, with indications of heat. It is set in millegrained double prongs atop a basket decorated with crossing lines of round brilliant cut diamonds, with three diamonds on the shoulders, as well. The total diamond carat weight is approx. 0.46CTW by formula. There are beautiful engraved details recreated from a c.1920s ring on the tapering band. 

This ring is in excellent modern condition. It is presently finger size 5.75 and can be resized.
