Inspiration comes from everywhere, they say. Some of our favorite antique design periods look to the ancients for ideas and techniques. It stands to reason that the cycle would continue in the 20th Century. This happy vintage ring was inspired by ornate 19th Century Victorian mountings but has been made at a scale that’s a little grander, a little weightier, that screams 1950s.

A neat vintage ring with a large, beveled-edged onyx slice. It is bezel-set in an ornate, Victorian-inspired 14K yellow gold setting. At just shy of 1" in length, it's a nice bold statement piece atop the finger. The inside of the band is stamped "14K B&F" for Baden & Foss, a New York City-based jeweler that specialized in gemstone rings in the mid-20th Century. This ring was made c. 1950.

This ring is in great vintage condition. It is presently finger size 6.75 and can be resized.
