Round Step Cut Diamond Engagement Ring
Round Step Cut Diamond Engagement Ring
The genius of Modern artists. Early 20th Century Cubists, the wielders of Abstract Expressionism, the makers of Surrealism. To see one thing and envision another. What it could be if turned about, do the opposite. A round face of straight crosshatched lines. Broad brush strokes for movement. Human forms of splattered paint. We never know how inspiration will strike. Like it did with the cut of this diamond. It’s round but eschews the most common round brilliant faceting pattern. Instead, it has the clean lines of an octagonal step cut. And it was made in the early 20th Century, too.
A unique diamond ring from the Art Deco era, made c. 1923 to be exact based on the engraving in the interior. The center 1.84 carat diamond is prong set and certified by GIA as H color and VS1 clarity. It is flanked on either side by four channel-set French cut diamonds that total approximately 0.40CTW and are approximately H color and VS quality. The inside of the platinum band is engraved with the date Sept 24th 1923, and lover's initials.
This ring is in excellent antique condition. It is presently finger size 10.75 and can be resized.
