Mosaic Engagement Ring

$2,200.00

The mindful placement of the mosaic tiles. Whether in a home unearthed from the rubble of Pompei, set into the walls and floors of the world’s holiest buildings, or adding bright decoration to a historic park, they always make us pause and admire. The color, the mix of materials, the design, all this intention makes something that can take your breath away.

Likewise, we’re charmed by this late Art Deco platinum ring with an intentional mix of diamonds and settings across the top. A center 0.25 carat old European cut center diamond of approximately J color and SI1 clarity is set in a squared four-prong box setting. Two baguette cut and 24 single cut diamonds decorate the tapering shoulders, with millegrain, piercework and engraving completing the intricate design. The total diamond carat weight is approximately 0.60CTW. A softened knife edge band tapers to a delicate round. This ring was made c. 1930. The inside of the band is stamped “100 Irid 900 Platinum” along with a maker’s mark we have not been able to identify.

This ring is in great antique condition. It has all the elements we hope to find in early 20th century rings. It is presently finger size 8 and can be resized.
