Mariner’s Star Ring
Mariner’s Star Ring
On a dark, clear night, we love to sit in the backyard, lean back and look up at the stars. As our eyes adjust to the night sky, we see how many of them we can name. For thousands of years, folks stared up at those twinkling orbs and wondered, made up their own lore, gave them names. Now, there’s an app for that. But we’re learning. Start at Vega. Find Orion’s Belt. That extra bright one must be Jupiter, it’s that time of year.
This end of Victorian era treasure of a ring features a lovely star, centering on an approximately 0.20CT old mine cut diamond of I color and I1 clarity. It is bead set in a 18k yellow gold mariner's star setting. This ring has Birmingham hallmarks and was made circa 1902.
This ring is in great antique condition; please note, the diamond has a small chip. It is presently a smidge over finger size 6.5 and can be resized.
