Greek Key Three Stone Ring
Greek Key Three Stone Ring
They call them “desire paths”, the direct, foot-trodden, human-made route in a natural space that gets you exactly where you’re going. But what if I desire to meander? To explore, twist and wind to my heart’s content. Like the Greek key pattern, created in ancient times and inspired by a winding river. It is said to symbolize eternity, unity and unbreakable bonds. What a fitting motif for this stunning Art Deco engagement ring.
In this piece, the center old European cut diamond is 2.34 carats and GIA certified of F color and I1 clarity. On one side is a 0.70 carat old European cut diamond GIA certified of I color and SI1 clarity. And on the other is a 0.71 carat old European cut diamond GIA certified of H color and SI1 clarity. These well matched stones are set in split prong settings with a winding Greek key design around their baskets. Two wee old mine cut diamonds in millegrained bezels are set in each shoulder atop a slender corrugated band. This platinum ring was made c. 1920-1930.
