Engraved Double Snake Ring
Engraved Double Snake Ring
Sometimes deeply felt sentiments are difficult to express. How close we feel, how much I adore you, how excited I am to spend our days together. When words can’t quite do justice, look to an ancient symbol of fidelity, unity and love, a representation of mutual trust and affection, of all the things that have no words.
A marvelously detailed ring of lovingly entwined snakes, a lover’s knot of sorts. It’s fashioned in 14K yellow gold with a wonderful patina. Each snake has an approx. 0.10 carat old mine cut diamond set into the head and two rose cut diamond eyes (the total carat weight approx. 0.24CTW). We love the hand engraved details atop a double band connected in two places. The inside of the band has an Austro-Hungarian fox hallmark for 14K gold assayed in Pest, Hungary. While the hallmark was applied 1872-1922, based upon materials and design, this ring was made c. 1890.
This ring is in excellent antique condition. It is presently finger size 8.75 and can be resized.
