Bvlgari Amethyst Piramide Ring
Bvlgari Amethyst Piramide Ring
The sugarloaf cabochon is named for its resemblance to the sugarloaf: the slender, domed structure that sugar took during its early refining process. Once made, these sturdy shapes traveled the world, sweetening wherever they went. While the sugar cube eventually took over, we love the old world romance of the loaf and the lovely gemstones that took inspiration from its unique shape.
Here, a sugarloaf amethyst rises like a pyramid, in Bvlgari’s aptly named Piramide ring. A real statement piece, the vintage, substantial 18K gold band is fashioned in largely yellow gold with leaf-inspired white gold accents. The inside of the band has a pretty floral interior mirroring the outside design, as well as a 750 cartouche stamp for the metal and a worn stamp of the maker Bvlgari. It was made c. 1990 in Italy.
This piece is in great vintage condition. It is presently finger size 7.75 and can be resized.
