Victorian Watch Chain
Victorian Watch Chain
You have other gold chains, but none quite like this. Far from its first time around the block, in fact it spent lifetimes as a custodian of pocket watches, keeping time – our most precious commodity – close at hand. Though ironically, it’s a study in circles, the universal symbol of eternity. Each elongated oval link encloses a quatrefoil cluster of circles, and between each oval are five classic, circular links. Made in France c.1900 during the Art Nouveau era whose influences are evident in the rounded corners and smooth, relaxed lines. The watch clasp is perfectly suited to hold your signature pendant.
This chain is in excellent antique condition. It measures 60.0” long and has French hallmarks.
