It comes once every year, the grand costume exhibition. The museum pulls yards of fabric from some secret hidden place, sews and buttons the dresses onto graceful figurines. Styles the trains and embellishments so they look just like they’ve twirled, or descended a stair, or posed on a red carpet. So much lovely fabric, perfectly draped, a moment of movement suspended in time.

Just like the dresses of yore, the festoon necklace is known for its exquisite drapery. And this moonstone festoon does not disappoint. The elegant necklace has five round moonstone cabochons with an oval moonstone cabochon dangling from the center. All stones are prong set in 15K rosy yellow gold with loops of delicate chain draped between them. 

This necklace is in excellent antique condition. Made c.1900, it measures 15” in length.
