Antique Compass Pendant
Antique Compass Pendant
There’s an old map in the cabin. The edges are worn, it’s been opened and closed countless times. Well loved. We don’t really know our way around here, so we picked the closest trail to the house, the one that leads to the waterfall. It’s a perfect summer day as we mosey along the foot-worn path, listening to the gentle hum of insects, the quiet calls of birds.
We decided to leave our phones behind, with our antique compass to help orient ourselves. Who knows how many it has helped find their way? A piece like this, a late 19th or early 20th century-made, working compass pendant. It is fashioned of 18K yellow gold with a rope of coiled wire around the circumference of the frame. One side has a white enamel border and the other black. Rock crystal faces surround the compass mechanism.
This pendant is in excellent antique condition and working (as far as we can tell). It measures just shy of 1" in diameter.
A variety of gold chains are available separately for purchase.
