A wonderful hinged bangle from the mid-nineteenth century. Buckles were an incredibly popular motif in Victorian jewelry, and represent the binding love between giver and receiver. This bracelet is crafted in 14k yellow gold, and embellished with minty green emeralds and engraving. The gentle curves of the gold create a sophisticated tromp l’oeil effect and make for a very special piece of jewelry. This bangle is in excellent antique condition. The opening measures 2 ¼  inches by 1 7/8 inches, and the bangle itself is ½ inch in width.
