Stretched out on the deck of the sailboat, we’re moored off the coast of Cyprus. Time for a spritz, pop open a bottle of prosecco to fizz up our cups. The magnificent blue Mediterranean laps against the sides of the boat, the sun warmed breeze is unlike anything I’ve felt before. It rustles the collar of my white button down, flapping almost like our sail. When it peeks open, there’s a sun flash glint of gold. It’s a little bit regal, a little bit sensual. It’s a necklace fit for a queen of antiquity. Or, even better, a queen of right freaking now, hiding in plain sight.

A magnificent and weighty 18K yellow gold necklace. This piece is vintage Egyptian revival with graduated, textured, closely positioned fringe that fans from two layers of staggered links. The outside of the box clasp is stamped 750 indicating the metal, its position in a lozenge shape indicates Italian make. Based upon materials and design, it was made c.1940-1970. It has a figure 8 safety latch for extra security. The best part, the way it lays enough structure to hold shape and the right amount of flexibility to conform to the neck. 

This necklace is in excellent vintage condition. It measures 16.5" in length.
