Guilloché Engraved Locket
Guilloché Engraved Locket
Precise. Intricate. Mesmerizing. Who do these words describe? Maybe your favorite person? Maybe you!
A Victorian locket with the pretty fantastic geometric details. They are formed by guilloché engraving (also called engine turning) which was at the time a new mechanical decorative technique. The design pauses on the front of the locket for a swoosh of six graduated natural pearls; an additional pearl is set in the center. A buttery 18K yellow gold creation made in the late Victorian era c. 1890 with a glass frame inside.
This pendant is in excellent antique condition. The locket measures 5/8" in diameter; with the bail it measures just shy of 1" long. A variety of gold chains are available separately for purchase.
