The griffon, a mythical beast with a head of an eagle and the body of a lion, the rulers of land and sky come together to explore both. In mythology, it had great taste, for treasure, that is. And it guarded its treasure well. Shining, sparkling, bits and bobs kept close to its heart.

Here, a treasure to guard your treasure, this Art Nouveau stylized eagle head, likely that of a griffon, is bordered in a swirling frame. An approximately 0.08 carat old mine cut diamond is held in its mouth. The pendant was made c.1900 and was converted to a necklace from an antique stick pin. The pendant measures 17.5mm in diameter and is fixed to an 18" 14K yellow gold modern cable chain with a spring ring clasp. The best part, no clasp will make its way to the front, it never slides and sits perfectly all the time. 

This necklace is in excellent antique (pendant) and modern (chain) condition.
