Meandering through the portrait gallery and we’re traveling back in time. Dresses covered in gems and pearls. Deep v shaped stomachers on the Elizabethan gowns. Men’s bulbous pantaloons. Styles sure do change, don’t they? We’re just so glad someone thought to capture those moments in time, put paint to canvas. 

This oval garnet pendant has a touch of that antique style with a swirling gold border reminiscent of a neck ruff. The gold border has a touch of engraving on the front. The oval garnet cabochon is bezel set with a glass frame on the inverse. Once a stick pin and now a lovely pendant hung from an 18" 14K yellow gold modern cable chain with spring ring clasp. Pendant was made in the late 19th Century. The best part, no clasp will make its way to the front, it never slides and sits perfectly all the time. 

This necklace is in excellent antique (pendant) and modern (chain) condition.
