Edwardian Cross Pendant
Edwardian Cross Pendant
We’re walking through Europe’s great cities. And, we promised ourselves we’d stop in every church along the way, if only just for a minute. They’re labors of love for artisans of yore: the carved wood, the tile mosaics, the woven tapestries, the cut glass windows. There’s always some new detail to spot. And, they’re often quiet introspective places, it’s lovely to take a moment away from the bustle of the city streets. The air smells faintly of incense, in some ways transporting us back in time.
Stunning Edwardian platinum cross pendant that is just brilliant! The center of the cross design features 22 old mine cut diamonds (0.30 carat center) set in millegrained bezels, which are graduated in size through the arms. They are fully surrounded by 92 old European cut bead-set diamonds in a millegrained frame. An additional three diamonds are set into the bail, for a total diamond carat weight of approx. 4.80CTW by formula. Diamonds range H-K in color and VS2-SI1 clarity.
This cross is in excellent antique condition. It measures 1.75" long including the bail and 1 5/8" across. A variety of chains are available separately for purchase.
