Floral French Chain
Floral French Chain
On certain nights in the summer, the Botanic garden stays open late for a picnic. We all empty our tote bags of treats onto the blanket, help yourself. Watch the sunset, spend the twilight hours sipping on bubbles, noshing on cheese and olives from the bougie grocery by the office, Korean potato chips from H Mart, chocolates from that pop up in Union Square, all of us nestled amidst the flowers. And here is a floral touch to run between your fingers while laid out on the picnic blanket.
A magnificent and intricately detailed 18K yellow gold chain with French hallmarks. Airy, flat handmade links total an impressive 54” in length. It was made c. 1890-1910, an Edwardian creation. This piece can be worn long where it hovers around the waist or doubled up. It lays beautifully and is in excellent antique condition.
