Ruby and Diamond Wreath Brooch
Ruby and Diamond Wreath Brooch
Wreaths, a symbol of eternity and renewal. At year’s end, we tend to see them in pine, evergreen. But why shouldn’t they adorn all year round? Be they a circle of flowers, woven straw, braided loaf, or even a festive circle of Lego? We love them all but think the best incarnation is absolutely a circle of diamonds. Eternity indeed!
This 18K white gold diamond and ruby circular brooch is classic Art Deco, made c. 1920. It has two cushion shaped old mine cut diamonds set slightly staggered in their own bezels. Two bright circular motifs with bead-set old mine cut diamonds add quite a bit of pop and if this isn't enough, there are four rubies bezel set in yellow gold cattycorner to the cushions. The total diamond weight is approx. 2.56CTW.
This brooch is in great vintage condition. Please note, one ruby has a small chip. It measures 1.25" in diameter.
