The red and the black. What does it make you think of? Perhaps the torii gates at the entrance to the shrine? The drama of the Stendhal novel? Or the triumph and defeat of the childhood checkerboard? These colors have been put next to each other throughout time, a wonderful compliment to one another.

This bracelet is that compliment incarnate, with beautiful faceted sugarloaf black onyx and red corals, alternatingly set in bright 14K yellow gold links. The rounded gold links, three of coral and three of onyx, sit with a slight curve to rest comfortably on the wrist. The clasp is skillfully incorporated to look like a link, with the extra security of a delicate safety chain. It was made mid-20th Century with lots of Art Deco design influence.

This bracelet is in excellent antique condition. It measures 8” length, and the links are .5” wide.
