Victorian Silver Buckle Bangle
Victorian Silver Buckle Bangle
So, you’ve composed your message. Now, how to deliver it to its intended? Sure, you could just hit send. But what if you stuck it in a bottle, have an airplane write it in the sky, or bought together symbols that demonstrate your meaning.
The Victorians were particularly fond of the latter method, as seen in this jaunty silver hinged buckle bangle with a charming message. While most of the bangle is unadorned, the buckle’s folded over belt flap reveals a lovely hand engraved ivy leaf motif. Ivy was a Victorian symbol of endless love and fidelity; as a symbol, the buckle embodied those sentiments, too. A true love token here in sterling silver. The inside is stamped Sterling Silver on either side of the hinge.
This bracelet is in excellent antique condition. It measures just shy of 1" wide. The inside diameter measures 2.25", making this a comfortable fit for a small to medium sized wrist.
