Victorian Engraved Silver Bangle

$1,450.00

A message around the wrist to be clasped upon the one you love best. The Victorians love their symbols, and here they are veritably layered. The hand engraved ivy leaves were a symbol of endless love and fidelity, a popular and well understood motif. And, the buckle itself was also a love symbol to celebrate the eternal joining of two lovers.

A Victorian sterling silver wide hinged bangle bracelet. The top of the bracelet, minus the buckle, is near fully hand engraved, with silver beads bordering the belt flap. It has full English hallmarks on the interior of the bracelet and was assayed in Birmingham c. 1881. It was made by Henry Williamson, a jeweler who had offices in Birmingham and London.

This bracelet is in great antique condition. It measures 1.25" wide and, with an internal diameter of 2 3/8", would comfortably fit a medium sized wrist.
