Hedges Fabric Bracelet
Hedges Fabric Bracelet
You see it and just know. The mixed colors, the links rippling like fabric, motion caught in a moment and held together with slender pins. It can only be Hedges!
This “handkerchief” bracelet by innovative Newark jeweler A.J. Hedges & Co. consists of 13 mixed metal links made of 14K gold. The designs on the overlapping links vary slightly, with four featuring a rose and yellow gold and platinum checkerboard and rectangular design. The center link is set with a small old European cut diamond, and two are set with opal cabochons. The bracelet's clasp is hidden within one of the links and is stamped with the Hedges hallmark. It was made c. 1890.
This bracelet is in excellent antique condition. It measures 7” in length.
