Garnet Buckled Snake Bracelet
Garnet Buckled Snake Bracelet
This neat antique link bracelet was made almost 150 years ago yet some of these design elements seem almost modern. The silky snake chain rippling around your wrist. The sleek garnet cabochons, so artistically carved. It incorporates two essential Victorian era jewelry motifs: the buckle and the snake. Both were well known symbols of endless love, here perfectly encapsulating the sentiment by clasping a bracelet around the wrist.
This bracelet’s buckle motif is centered on a swirling carved oval garnet cabochon with a rose cut diamond set in a star in its center. The end of the buckle has two additional garnet cabochons, one geometric shape and an inverted teardrop, reminiscent of a snake head. The 3/8" inch wide snake link has fantastically silky movement. It has a cable link safety chain for easy clasping on and off. Victorian made c.1880. There’s so much antique style that could equally sit quite happily in the present moment.
This bracelet is in excellent antique condition. It measures just over 7" in length.
