Elegant French Gold, Platinum and Diamond Bracelet
Elegant French Gold, Platinum and Diamond Bracelet
French composer Camille Saint-Saëns published his musical menagerie The Carnival of the Animals in the late 19th Century. He was looking to have a little fun, find some joy. While he used his imagination to musically bring animals to life, he needed only to have looked at French jewelry hallmarks to find inspiration. The most classic is the majestic eagle’s head stamp for buttery 18K gold. And for cool platinum, a vigilant dog in profile.
A sumptuous antique French link bracelet that feels lovely on. It features eight 18K yellow gold elongated navette shaped links with filigree detail and platinum-set diamonds atop. The links' center bezel-set diamonds are approx. 0.15 points each, with graduated old rose cuts on either side. French hallmarks on the tongue clasp and a handmade figure 8 safety latch. Made in the late 19th Century c.1895. A dream on the wrist!
This bracelet is in excellent antique condition. It measures 7.5” long.
