Place & Sons Filigree Diamond Cluster Ring

$6,400.00

The manufacture of fine jewelry was once a massive industry in the northeastern United States. From factories in Newark and Phillie, Boston and Brooklyn, came intricate gold jewelry destined for boutiques across the country and world. Though most of the large-scale manufacturing has moved elsewhere, sometimes we come across a jewel that has managed to remain somewhat local all these years. Like this ring: made by Oscar E. Place & Sons, of Providence, RI., about the year 1920.

14k yellow and white gold floral filigree setting, topped with a sparkly cluster of old mine cut diamonds. 0.65ct old European cut center, K color/SI1 clarity. 1.35 total carat weight for the cluster. Signed “P&S” for Place & Sons, active under this name c. 1910s - 1930s. This ring is a size 5.5 and can be resized.
