Blue Enamel & Diamond Ring
Blue Enamel & Diamond Ring
Some treasures stop you in your tracks, and that was certainly the case when we saw this. A bright old mine cut diamond sits atop a pinnacle of swirling gold and blue enamel – the stuff of antique jewelry dreams. The diamond is a treasure all its own, weighing approximately 0.65 carats and G-H color and VS clarity, cut by hand to reveal bright facets and lots of sparkle. Along each shoulder are five rose cut diamonds that total to approximately 0.12 carats and provide a backdrop of soft sparkle for the center stone. The 18-karat handmade mounting has big sweeps and swirls, which are dramatized by the accent of blue enamel throughout the ring. Made c. 1870.
This ring is in excellent antique condition. It is presently a size 6 ¾ and cannot be resized.
