The Griffin Intaglio

$5,800.00

Griffins are beats of myth that are ubiquitous in time and space, with references dating as far back as 5000 years, and in traditions of multiple continents, faiths and peoples. They combine the hind end of a lion - the king of beasts, and the front end of an eagle, the king of birds. Often the guards of precious treasure in myth, and symbols of strength, power, leadership and courage - altogether an impactful figure for a crest signet such as this, and seen today the world over on flags, and as emblems of sporting teams, family crests and architecture.

A fierce griffin is engraved atop this classic gold signet ring. Enhanced with architectural patterns on the shoulder this ring is a classic 19th century gentleman's jewel. Made in London in 1875. Made in bright 18 karat yellow gold. Presently a size 7.25 and can be resized.
