Often these rings are called ‘bypass’ rings which we never understood because bypass implies a miss of sorts. If we were to rename this style we may call them convergence rings… as it is more about two paths meeting in a marvelous manner, crossing paths at just the right moment.

18k yellow gold bypass ring with prong-set old mine cut diamond and sapphire. Shoulders embellished with six tiny diamonds, knife-edge band. Total diamond carat weight of ring approx. 0.50 carats. Center diamond M/N/VS. Sapphire approx 0.32 carats. Partial UK hallmarks. Edwardian, c. 1900. Presently a size 8.5. This ring has been resized before and can be again.
