Victorian Diamond Buckle Ring

$0.00

Take a page out of the Victorians’ book. Long before the age of heart emojis, transatlantic flights and adoring emails zapped to faraway inboxes, the Victorians mastered the art of communicating despite the hurdles of distance and time. Take for example this ring, the main motif being a buckle; a subject well understood by Victorian contemporaries to mean eternity, fidelity, loyalty or protection. With the gift of such sentiments sitting on the finger as a daily reminder, and so dearly purchased, the mind could hardly make room for doubt no matter the distance between lovers. Somehow this makes the powers of big tech seem so small.

A Victorian buckle ring in excellent antique condition. Made in 1893 in England. set with two old single cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.08 carats, and JK/SI quality and set in classic mariner’s star bezels. Presently a size 9 and can be resized.
