A delicately handmade butterfly filigree pendant constructed of meticulously coiled 18 karat gold wire. It was made c. 1850 – 1870 during the Victorian Romantic period, and would’ve been a well-recognized symbol of the human soul. Victorian’s believed that their souls and that of their loved ones carried on in the form of butterflies; a sweet sentiment duly communicated in the delicate and careful work of this pendant.

This pendant is in excellent antique condition. It measures 1.5” wide and 2.0” long including the double chain. Comes with an original box. A variety of gold chains are available separately for purchase.
