When style emerges from function the result is often superb. Take this chain, whose function was to keep a pocket watch attached to a bodice, to assist in keeping pace with the modern world. The style that emerged is far more concerned with originality than punctuality. Each elongated link is made in warm rose gold and has a three-dimensional origami structure of pierce work patterns. Each of these angular links alternates and contrasts with a grouping of smooth, rounded links. The clasp is made of an extra large spring ring to accommodate big pendants and the original watch clip. Made by hand in the late 19^th century.

This chain is in excellent antique condition. It measures 22.5” long.
