Elongated Knot Antique Chain
Elongated Knot Antique Chain
For gentlemen of the Victorian era, a gold watch chain was an indispensable accessory; a socially acceptable bit of flare at a time when menswear was a strictly-defined uniform. Today, they are most often worn as necklaces. We come across a seemingly infinite variety of links and patterns, wonderful and subtle variations that speak to the original wearer’s individuality.
This link is formed of alternating elongated and compact knots, hand-rendered in warm 18 karat yellow gold. The necklace measures 18.25” long and features a watch clip and large spring ring. Made c. 1900 and in excellent antique condition.
