In the early midcentury platinum was becoming scarce for jewelers because of the mounting war effort so they made do with gold instead. Though more than ‘make do’ they explored finishes, movement, new techniques, and new forms to keep their beloved art fresh and evolving. This bracelet comes from this era and sits somewhere between engineering and art. From afar it looks like a solid piece, but as the bracelet moves the joinery of the ingenious link style comes to light. The central links are flush set with alternating rubies and diamonds and the clasp is barely noticeable among the links.

This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition. Made in Europe c. 1935. It measures 7.0” long and 0.33” wide and is affixed with a box clasp and safety chain. The rubies weigh approximately 0.25 carats and the diamonds approximately 0.20 carats.
