A rare and excellent Egyptian revival hinged bangle, replete with with fabulous colors and intricate detail. Signed with makers' mark for Carl Bacher, a Viennese jeweler celebrated for his imaginitive interpretations of Ancient Egyptian design. Crafted in 14k yellow gold, and featuring two pharaoh head finials with carved carnelian faces. Pharaoes wear traditional nemes headdresses of green & white striped enamel and diadems of rose cut diamonds, ruby and emerald. Lotus-motif busts are embellished with pink garnetse and more rose cut diamonds. Stamped with Austria-Hungary marks for Vienna c. 1870s. There is some minor damage to the enamel, and one pharaoh is missing his nose, just like the sphinx. This bracelet must have gone to some fun parties in the past 150 years!
