We are fortunate to see and handle beautiful antique jewels on the daily, but every once in ahwile we come across a piece that is so wonderfully designed, so perfectly executed that we still have to stop and sigh a bit. It’s not necessarily the piece that’s the flashiest, or set with the biggest diamond (though it certainly can be!). In this case, it’s a narrow gold bangle that curves just the right way, and is adorned with the prettiest, most precise pattern of granulation one could ask for. Even better, it’s signed by Clark, Day & Co., manufacturing jewelers out of Newark, New Jersey, once famed as makers of bejeweled buttons and hairpins. Sigh.
