Before these days of the internet, people and more especially women, had limited ways of stating their case and so in lieu of twitter some women spoke with their jewels. Crescent moons, exampled in the turquoise laden crescents on these earrings were widely understood as symbols of the strength of womanhood, intuition and female empowerment. And still today these earrings speak volumes. The turquoise are bead set in hinged crescents that wrap around 18 karat bloomed gold drops. Made c.1850.

These earrings are in excellent antique condition and measure 2.0 inches.
