Rare Antique Moonstone Face Earrings

$7,650.00

A rare and enchanting pair of antique earrings featuring carved man-in-the-moon stones.

Two glowing moonstone faces peek out from sparkling borders of rose-cut diamonds. The gems are held in place with oxidized silver prongs, and backed with their original 14k rose gold lever-back fasteners. Total diamond carat weight of the pair is approx 0.64.

Earrings measure 1" in length, and 5/8" in width.

We’ve had a number of moonstone face rings & stickpins in our collection over the years, but it is quite rare to come across a pair of earrings. Even more special - this set came to us in what appears to be their original box: a lovely case of faux-ivory celluloid lined with burgundy velvet. Gilded lettering informs us that these earrings were orginally sold at the shop of Pedro Jasses, on Avenida Riadavida in Buenos Aires around the year 1900.

One moonman has a chip on his chin (see photos) that does not interfere with the charm and beauty of these earrings when worn.
