Sapphire & Diamond Garland Bracelet

$12,000.00

La Belle Epoque in Paris – when something worth doing was worth doing beautifully. Take, for example, the Paris train station Gare de Lyon, onto which an expansion was built at the turn of the century. Not only functional with thirteen new tracks, but also exquisite, with a frescoed ceiling, garland masonry, sculpture adorned façade, and an ornate clocktower. Somewhere nearby in both time and place, this bracelet was conceived. Floral garlands of sapphires set in yellow gold and diamonds set in platinum, all joined together by openwork navettes of diamonds, each stone setting carefully milgrained around the edge. Even the back side is carefully hand-fitted with wirework wrist bezels, and the clasp is hidden seamlessly by a garland link. Because if you’re going to wear a bracelet, make every inch of it beautiful. Made c.1900 in the Edwardian or Belle Epoque era and set with approximately 0.48 carats of sapphires and 2.00 carats of diamonds.

This bracelet is in excellent antique condition and bears worn French hallmarks. It measures 7.25” long, 0.33” wide, and features a hidden tongue and closure clasp with a safety chain.
